Public Revelation

US Treasurer Beach shared a preliminary design of the coin on Friday via social media, stating: “Absolutely real. These drafts marking America’s 250th birthday and [Trump] are authentic.”

The social media post – which boosted another user discussing the coin concept – indicated that Beach looked “forward to sharing more” after the resolution of the partial government shutdown that began after late Wednesday when opposition lawmakers demanding concessions on medical care and other funding matters declined to offer the support necessary to pass a GOP-supported funding bill.

Legal History

As noted, in 2020, at the conclusion of his first presidency, Trump approved bipartisan legislation empowering the Treasury head to issue $1 coins during the year 2026 that are “representative of the United States quarter-millennial”.

Appearance Details

One side of the coin on whose concept Beach remarked recently showed Trump’s portrait alongside “Liberty”, “In God we Trust”, and “1776-2026”.

A comment from a department official clarified that the draft which Beach’s online update discussed was not the “definitive coin design”. But the response emphasized that “this concept aptly represents the lasting character of our land and democratic system, even in the face of significant challenges”.
